BREAKING : Sealdah-Ajmer Express Accident near Kanpur, 2 Dead and 43 Injured

Kanpur : 15 Coaches of Sealdah-Ajmer Express (12987) has been derailed near Rura Railway station in Kanpur dehat district today morning. According to news reports so far 2 passengers are dead and more than 40 passengers are injured.

The Ministry of Railways mentioned in a tweet that The Accident happend near Rura Railway station at around 5.20 am. 15 Coaches of Sealdah-Ajmer Express train number 12987 has been derailed 50 kilometers away from Kanpur.

The train was crossing a bridge over a dry canal in the area, when accident happend.

Anil Saxena, Railway Spokesperson said, “A rescue team has rushed to the spot and a medical relief train from Kanpur has also been sent to the accident site. Currently we are focusing on relief and rescue operations,
As per preliminary reports, 15 coaches of the train got derailed. The first 5 and last 3 coaches were intact,”
